The start of my last week in Denmark

On Monday I went back to Aarhus, this time to see the natural sciences museum. Me and a couple of students from Tradium left for the bus station at 12, and met the Italians and our supervising teacher there. The museum had a couple of different exhibits, and we spent a couple of hours wandering around the place.

After the museum, we took a stroll to the city center, and did some window shopping. At around 5 o'clock, the danish students left for Randers, but I stayed with the rest of the group to go take a look at a local street food center. There were many different stalls of food sellers, with food cultures from all around the world. This was the first place I found a vegan alternative being advertised, which was a refreshing thing. After this we took the buss back to Randers.

Tuesday was a pretty regular day, with me doing my tasks at the office.

I think this is a good moment to explain how the Practice Center is organized. There are a total of 4 companies here, sharing rooms with each other. The retail side is located on the farthest room from the main entrance, and has by far the most employees working there. 2 of the companies are located in that room. Retail simply focuses on selling products in small quantities to customers.
Next is the room where I work, which houses both the Home Decor´ webshop, and the accounting unit, which takes care of the ledgers for all the firms. Home Decor´ and the rest of the firms trade with both customers and businesses. The work is a bit more varied, because of the sales offers and the different payment methods.
Accounting is divided into receivable and payable, and they sit on different sides of the room. Home Decors work stations are located in the middle.
The third room houses only 1 company. It is pretty similar to Home decor´, the difference being that they have specific persons either buying or selling. They also create their own sales confirmations that they send to companies which they wish to buy from, whilst my company simply receives them. They are not a web shop, but being a virtual firm, this simply changes the system that they are using, from what I've been told.
There is also a reception/HR located at the front of the practice center floor. The reception handles all the mail sent from the different firms, and checks the excel arks of the Danish Cargo, which is used by the companies to deliver the goods.
There is a flex time system in place at the practice center. The normal working time is from 8 am till 4 pm, except for Fridays, when its from 8 am to 1 pm. The employees receive flex time from all the extra time spent in the workplace. They also receive an hour of flex for every 10 continuous days of work without sick leave. The HR keeps track of the flex times of the employees, and who is currently at the workplace, in order to direct the phone calls to people who are actually there. They also put up job offers, since the employees here are always looking for places of internship.
