The first part of the second week.

On Monday it turned out that the reservation for the auditorium, in which I was supposed to hold my presentation, had been somehow messed up, so we had to postpone it again. Next try on Wednesday. I spent both Monday and Tuesday doing billing doing billing. The office is pretty quiet with most of the people out this week, but I got to sit in the other room with people from another company, to have somebody to chat with. In the current room they are doing both purchasing and billing, as well as accounting. I'm looking forward to observing how the accounting is handled here.
A picture of the current room I'm working in.

To me the Danes feel a lot more sociable than Finns. They are constantly chatting with each other, whilst performing their tasks. This is kinda different compared to what I've experienced working with Finns in an office environment. The Danish feel like a middle ground when comparing the relaxed nature of the Spanish and the seriousness of the Finnish culture. It's actually quite enjoyable.

I was told on Tuesday that there would be a couple of exchange students from Italy staying at the school for a week. They will be arriving on Wednesday. Can't wait to meet them.

  1. Interesting to read about your perceptions as to differences between Danish / Finnish / Spanish cultures. Yes I quite agree with you; the Danish people are very sociable and talkative in a very nice way. Good to hear that you're enjoying your time there!
